CalgaryPuck GHL Ball Hockey Team for Fall *NEED PLAYERS & TEAM NAME SUGGESTIONS*
Hi, figured I'd post a topic for it. A couple of us CP'ers have been playing ball hockey pretty regularly throughout the summer and have expressed some interest in joining an actual ball hockey league for the upcoming season.
We'd be playing in the GHL, which has a team fee of about $1500, so we're looking at about $100/person. We'd play on Sundays only, so hopefully that makes commitment to the team a bit easier.
If anyone is interested let me know, we've gotta get this thing done pretty quick as registration is due by the 31st.
Just post if you are intersted, your skill level, and also what position you'd like to play. It would also be best if you came out and played in one of our weekly games so you get to know some of the guys.
Currently we've got:
LGA (Me)
AC
chalms
j-bo
j-bo's friend
PuckLuck
BurningYears
BaldyAuldy (Spare)
arloiginla (?)
KTown (?)
Slava (?)

Is there a broken stick clause? skill level I'd say mediocre to decent. do my best work at about 10-15 feet to the left of the net.

Oh, Signal Hill is too far for me.
Plus, I am a pansy and don't want my sticks wrecked outdoors. I prefer to play in gyms or indoor rinks. LOL

If I weren't already playing in 3 ball hockey leagues I'd be in as my super leagues team only does summers. 4 is probably too much though.
Ball hockey > ice hockey for those of us not in the nhl imo!

Its a fun league, the refs can be terrible depending on who you get. I've played in Div 1 right on into div 6 in the past 2 years

I love how he gets all riled up about calls, and offsides.
He almost blew our playoff chances with some terrible penalties.

played in this year's summer season with a fellow CP'er (Papi), we finished first in the regular season in...*cough* Div 7 *cough*, only for a punk team to bring in some ringers only for the refs to decline our request of an ID check for players (and Johnny wasn't even one of the refs, he atleast loves to do call stuff...albeit a bit too much).
It's a fun league - be prepared to run your asses off and you guys are lucky you're in NSD - running around in the arena's (polished concrete) during the summer destroyed my knee.

And he waits until all doors are fully shut before even thinking about dropping the ball.
My team got wrecked by guys not showing up.
Did anyone play against the bobcats?
Biggest group of fools I've ever met.
