Default last document printed?

is there a log file to determine the last document printed? I have an HP laserjet 1320.

I stepped out of the office for a coffee, and came back with the printer in its cool down phase, as if a document had just been printed. I'm concerned someone entered my office and stole something from my computer

Possibly. Is it a network attached printer? Enter the IP address into your browser, it *may* have some information, but that's a bit iffy.

Although I can't answer your question directly, I'd check your recent documents to see what/when was last accessed. You can also check the document's properties (in OpenOffice, at least) to see when a document was last modified, printed, etc.

That's about all that I can suggest. It might give you an idea of what went on while you were gone.

You could try running a undelete util and looking for files in c:\windows\system32\spool and the subdirectories underneath (specifically, I think c:\windows\system32\spool\printers). This is where print jobs get spooled to disk prior to physical printing.
