Default Streaming music recorder?

Does anybody know of a good free internet sound recorder without spyware? I used to use "free sound recorder 8.2.1" but it doesn't work with windows 7 for some reason.

I use these quite often and hope someone has one they highly recommend.

I am pretty sure that Audacity does this, but I have never done that exact thing with it.

Does windows 7 still have the basic sound recorder? I've always used that or Audacity. Get a 1/8" male/male connector, and plug the headphone out to the line in. That way you can record any audio on the computer. Just make sure your sounds + alerts are shut off.

Don't mean to change your topic, but this reminds me of something I've wondered for a while.

Does anyone know of a way to record streaming audio, like if you were listening to something that you couldn't download?

Isn't that the question in the thread title?

Audacity will do -works for me. Although I route through a line out, into my mixer, and back to my line in. Not too sure how to pick up from within, but with audacity it should be possible, and free.
