Default New Bell TV 9252 receiver

It looks like it's going to be Bell's version of Dish Satellites 922 receiver. Not sure of a date or price yet but apparently some have already been installed for VIP customers in GTA.

Whether our version will have all of these features, I can't say.

Here's a link to the Dish 922.

Slingbox integration looks great, but beyond that a lot of the features look like change and flair for the sake of change and flair. I didn't really see anything he did that wasn't totally doable or even easier on a current box. The interface looked a little cooler, but I didn't see much else. Perhaps I missed something.

I bet it will come in around the $600 mark. Having worked for Bell and being a Bell customer for even longer it seems that whenever a new receiver comes out it is around that price point.

Now the question will be, can I get another receiver out of them for free again?

I'm not too anxious to upgrade, my 9242 should be able to do everything except the Slingbox feature but like Hoot, if I can swing a great deal with Bell, I might. I think they have gone back to a normal numbered remote for the 922.

Here's an american site offering the Dish VIP 922 for $639.00. I'd wild guess Bell will add about $100 .

It looks mean! I like it!

Just wait for them to come out for half price for 'new' customers then make the phone call. When I got my 9242 it was easy to get it for half price it was the other $300 that took a little wiggling.

I was talking more about the wifi monitor. I assume the reciever will be around 600-800.

This is the key.

Any semi-long Bell customer should be able to haggle a free rental of a pvr. I've only been a customer for 3 years and am currently enjoying free rental of the 9242 and 30% off all programming. Just give their retentions department a call. One thing I would like, is if this new box could distribute to more than one tv, like the old 9200 could.

I've heard Bell may be less apt to offer the good deals of last year but YMMV. So my idea will be to come prepared with detailed counter offers from Shaw, Telus. etc, even if they are bogus, when this deal runs out in June.

I can't get rentals here as Bell doesn't consider me as part of their area. No installers here and you need a rental to be pro installed, so I just go for a straight rebate towards a new receiver. By the time I got my rebates I got a 6131 free and made a little.
