Hotmail Virus

Didn't see a similar topic anywhere but I have a hotmail virus and it keeps sending links to my contacts by itself, 6-10 at a time. Anyway I can delete it? I have tried scanning the computer with Vipre but it doesn't detect anything.

Any suggestions?

You normally access Hotmail through your browser or through a email client?

If you are using a client, then try a few online scanners. Trend House Call, Panda or some others. Also Hitman Pro works pretty good as well.

If you are just using IE/Firefox etc, then it is probably not a virus, but your email account being hacked.

i had the same problem. I dont think its a virus because nothing has happened to my comp, but i would get a bunch of failed to deliver notices for the people on my address list whos account isnt up anymore. I just deleted my account....too old for a hotmail account anyways haha

I get the same thing every couple of weeks.

I might have to delete the account and start over I guess.

Check to see if your secret question has changed for your account.

This happened to me about a month ago, I changed my password, but also checked my secret question and the question was written in chinese characters haha.

After I changed both I'd had no more emails sent out.
