Geekbench Your Computer! (Old thread, bumped)
I'm a geek, and I'm also bored... So...
1. Go here: http://www.primatelabs.ca/geekbench/
2. Download Geekbench (just use the free one).
3. Run it (only the 32bit one is free, 64bit version costs $$$).
4. Post your results!
5. (Profit?)
Any OS will suffice. There's a Windows, Mac, Linux and even Solaris version.
================================================== ==================================================
I'll start us off. Hopefully some of these results will spur some tip-trading and info-linking that everyone will be able to benefit from.
(You can either just post a link, or both a link and a screen shot. Please try to do the link though, since it has all the good stuff. Indicate if it's a laptop, desktop or server as well.)

You know... I wish I knew what most of those tests do...
I mean, I get that Blowfish is encryption and compression is... well.. compression... but some of those floating-point ones I have no clue about.

Sure, I'll whip out my e-dick...
Only 32bit though... I think the 64bit one would be better for me (desktop)

Nice, man. I'm guessing you built that yourself? I can't think of any manufacturers off the top of my head that use EVGA boards...
Can I ask why you didn't go with 1333 RAM?

I think that might be an error, it's 1600 running at ~1450 (due to multiplier/bus speed not lining up)
Yes I built it.

My 5 year old laptop...which is kinda on it's deathbed.
How old is my computer? It's a Compaq...yeah, that's right.

Ah, yeah that makes sense. I was wondering why it was a weird number, thought maybe you were just overclocking some 800 or something like that.

I know it says HP in the Model box... but is it actually branded HP, or is it branded Compaq? I know HP bought Compaq years ago, but I didn't think they took over their product names too.

I can't wait to test my crappy laptop with this. A pocket calculator might score higher.

It's branded Compaq. Way before there were even rumours of HP buying Compaq.

My computer sucks balls, but four years ago it rocked!
I obviously don't have a clue, I don't even know what a core is but why would the test say I have one core and one processor when its supposed to be a duo core processor hp pc? Did someone scoff my other core??!!

What's the difference between 32-bit benchmarking and 64-bit?
I'm running everything at stock, so I know my benchmarks will be lower than they could be.
