Irving is back up. I think the organization is higher on Irving, and they should be, and thus Keetley is down to get starting time and Irving is given another chance to get back into the number one goaltender position.

Keetley's not happy about being sent down.
I was watching the Victoria news tonight and the sports reporter even commented on how he didn't seem happy in his interviews.
However, this is understandable, no one is ever happy about being sent down, but most people don't blatantly show it either.

He should probably learn to not constantly give out monster rebounds Mcehlinney style and he would probably never get sent down.

Is that really a rectifyable problem though? I'm not sure he can learn positioning that easily, considering what I saw of him in the preseason games.

On the plus side, David Shantz is looking great on the Heat currently, isn't he?
To quote Zoolander: "That Shantz... he's so hot right now!"

Shantz did look shaky the first day of training camp but then calmed down after that
whatever happened to Spence after he got released?

I believe hes looking for work still as a goalie someplace. If I remember, he played for the Laredo Bucks last year.

He played his overage season with Sarnia in the OHL and was set to play with the Bucks after being at the Flames training camp looking over the Bucks website he got release in October, doesn't look like he went anywhere after that

Keetley's 0-4 and has allowed 24 GOALS IN 4 GAMES for a 6.05 goals against average since being sent down to the ECHL. He also has an abysmal .821 save percentage.

Well that solidifies it; the kid's finished.
On the other hand, we should all be anticipating the glorious arrival, in time, of our righteous saviour for all things hockey, Joni 'The Last Emperor'' Ortio.
Once he arrives, balance will be restored to the force.

Wow. That's not a very good sign if that's the way the kid reacts to adversity.

I went to the game last Friday against the Idaho Potatoes. The whole team looked bad. I went with a work function and had about 30 people in our section, and I was sure to tell them (mostly Canuck fans) he was a Flames prospect.
The whole team (especially Defense #6 Roach) was bad. It was the worst hockey game I have ever seen. Keetley did what he could, he didnt have much of a chance. His rebound control was a little suspect and was a little slow going from post to post, but he made alot of saves. He would have to aswell, as I would guess the play was probably in their zone %80 of the game.
I wouldnt let Keetleys stats alone tell you the story, the whole team has stunk.

Irving's stats after his first two games with the Salmon Kings were just as bad as Keetleys. Probably nothing to worry about.

I like Keetley and wish him all the best. I am friends with his sister, and he lived a few doors down from me. I know he was a huge Flames fan growing up but maybe it is time we cut ties with him. Give him a shot somewhere else?
