Dine Out Calgary
Didn't find it on my search here, but have anybody gone to this before?
http://www.downtowncalgary.com/dineoutcalgary/
There are some good restaurants listed and some not so good restaurants.
$15-25 for lunch
$25-35 for Dinner
$85 for "gourmet" dinner with wine pairings.

Heading to Blink on Saturday to check things out. It's a great deal, and definitely a good excuse to try out some restaurants you otherwise would be unable to afford.

I booked Olives through Opentable.com for this Saturday, hoping to get 1000 points from that.
Trying Saint Germain next Saturday. They were fully booked for this fri/sat.
Hoping for some awesome food.

It is a shame to see that list has Earls on it though.

Restaurants from all walks of life participate in the dine out program.
Trust me, I worked at one (in Vancouver).
Working dine out at a place that is not designed to have everyone sit down at the same time is a terrible affair. Especially when your head chef is mentally incompetent...

Just went to Olives tonight and had their dine out menu.
$35
Mushroom soup with truffle croutons
Short ribs
panna cotta
I was impressed by the food, but I had no expectations going in. I would definitely recommend it if you haven't been to Olives before.
There was a $20 wine pairing option for each course.
Their menu seems to have disappeared off the dine out calgary site, I'll try to find the direct link for the PDF.

Sounds similar to Toronto's Winterlicious and Summerlicious events. For those in Calgary who have never gone to Dineout types of events, go in with low expectations with respect to portion sizes, service level, etc. and you'll come out pleasantly surprised by the experience more often than not.
It's a good chance as someone else said to sample some of the higher end restaurants for a more affordable price without spending a lot more otherwise on your first experience. If you like it, go back on a regular night with a regular menu and go from there.

Went to Don Quijote's for lunch on Friday. The paella was amazing and they gave you very large portions. Great deal for $15.
Also went to Bali Indonesian for dinner and it was fairly good. Big portions as well and had a lot of selection for their set meal. I think this is the only Indonesian food place in town - not quite as good as the food in Bali but still tasty nonetheless.

All CPers, please accept my personal invitation to come out to Muse in Kensington, where I work. We're offering a 5-course tasting menu for $60/person or $85/person with wine pairings.
