Warehouse nightclub closing after 26 years
Pretty lame....
Sure, it had its downfalls, but was pretty fun place to go get smashed, and was a good alternative scene, not your usual chach pop-collar club atmosphere.

Damn, another one of the favorite haunts of my youth gone, joining the Republik and the Night Gallery. Seeing Hold Steady there a few months ago was one of the best small venue concerts I've seen in years.

Anybody been back to the new Republik yet? That was another killer place back in the day. Tons of good shows.

Shady bouncers at that place, went to see Mindless Self Indulgence and one of them told me the show was sold out but he would sell me a ticket for $50. I told him to eff off, walked past him to the ticket booth and paid the girl $25 and walked in. Piece of garbage.
For a venue it wasn't too bad, a lot of great metal shows in that room. Also saw King's X twice at that venue, both upstairs and downstairs.

Not sure if I went in there (the "Weirdhouse"). Probably. Used to pass it all the time on the way from Hollywood North to Electric Avenue. That was before the internets.

Ahh the Warehouse. I remember hanging in the Underground at the tables over the big grates. Every once in a while you'd get a waft of stale beer and puke come up. Oh the memories.

LOL! Speaking of bouncers there.... Went there a decade or so ago, there was a very large female bouncer. She looked down at my friend and I and said "I'm not going to have any problems with you little #$%@!^, am I?"
"No ma'am."

Such a shame. So many good memories in both the Warehouse and Underground.

My favorite part was pissing in the cow troffles upstairs, and just how horrid the bathroom was after a couple hours. Sweat dripping off of the mirrors because of the humidity, bouncers that were high out of there minds, only 1 bar upstairs, no where to sit unless you managed to get one of the few tables. Non-stop drugs. People getting stabbed/murdered. Gangs making thousands a night in drug sales.
Man l'm gonna miss that place.

Much like my experience. It was a hole which seems to differ from the older poster experiences.

Aw. I was practically raised in that joint. Brought up by an assortment of freaks, weirdos, junkies and transsexuals. I feel like a part of my childhood just died.

I don't think I count as an older poster, but I loved that place. Shame it's closing.
It's funny, I'm reading a lot of posts from a bunch of whiners. I find places like the roadhouse, tantra etc MUCH MUCH worse than places like the warehouse.
I like dive bars though. Also I like bars that have the ability to play decent music, unlike all the bars mentioned above..
I've been to a lot of really good shows there over the years! Ah well, now that the Republik has re-opened and it looks like they are going to be booking decent shows there are still some good places to see music. Also the distillery is pretty damn good as well, it can be a great place. Although, I've seen some shady things happening there.

Can't say I'll miss the Underground, but the Warehouse wasn't too bad.
I can't remember ever being asked to "join" their "private club" on any of my visits. I imagine that they slowly forgot or ignored that small part of their license. Too bad it couldn't have been resolved amicably instead of just pulling the plug.
