Where I live
I know I posted a couple of years ago about the community I live in but I have had a few inquiries in my other thread I thought I would share with you just where I am and what it's like here.
Chesterfield Inlet, Nunavut
Population: 300
On the flow edge of the Hudson's Bay hunting for Seals with my buddy Barney.
Northern Lights
Our kayak club, the first month of school. All kayaks built by hand right here in Chester by the students!
Ummm we can get some high snow drifts!
Lots of wildlife! My boys vs Mr. Fox
The Tundra
Sunrise from my front door
My boys and I out for a run...well I drive snowmobile and they follow me.
Lots of ice on the Lakes here!
Posing in a polar bear suit...SUPER warm!
Real Inukshuk's, not those fake Olympic ones.
My beautiful fiance and I. I am wearing a seal skin vest which is formal wear here.
They love to run
Ice fishing

I remember a couple of those pics. Didn't you once post a series of pics of your dogs and that fox fooling around?
edit, hence the comment in the OP that you once posted some of the pics

Where did you live before this? How did you find the change? I think I would go bonkers in a place like that.

Wow, what a beautiful place. The northern lights pic is especially impressive. Do you often wonder if you're going to have a difficult time moving back to a more mainstream locale?

Were you born there or have family there? That seems to be a crazy change in life style if you were a city boy.
That Northern Lights picture is sweet!!!

When I googled the place. I couldn't believe how small it was. Smaller than many campsites. Not even the size of one Calgary neighborhood.

You should write a book about your experiences of moving up there.

When you posted on Friday about building a house up there, I spent a bit of time looking at different northern communities. I would really one day like to visit some of these places. There's just something about traveling to the ends of the Earth that is sexy. It's quite amazing that people can live in a place that barley gets over freezing in july and has the mdniht sun for monhs at a time.

That second picture is stunning! I have always wanted to witness the Northern Lights in person.
Great pictures all together.

Hi MJK. Many thanks for the photos. It looks like a very adventurous place to live for a younger person.
Would you please provide some tips regarding the acquisition of original Inuit / Eskimo art carvings. I am currently in the market for same.
