Default HDMI Switch Audio Issue

Hey all,

Wondering if some folks might have some technical suggestions for me here.

My setup:
HMDI Switch - Monoprice HDX-401e
Blu-Ray Player - Sharp BD-HP20
Game Console - XBOX 360

I've got 1.3 HDMI cables going into and out of everything here, and I can't get any audio on the XBOX 360. The Blu-Ray is fine, audio and video is OK. But the XBOX doesn't have any audio. I've tried using different ports on the switch, tried swapping cables, and did a direct connection to my TV. The only way I get audio is with the direct connection to the TV.

Any suggestions, or is the switch just not supporting my XBOX?

Seems that the XBOX just doesn't like working with the switch. I plugged the Satellite receiver into the switch along with the blu-ray, with the xbox going direct to the TV. Everything is tickety boo now.

Glad you got your system working. All I can suggest is to read their description, knowledge base and the reviews and this if it helps.

NOTE: 24AWG or higher cables HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for best performance. Some devices will require thicker gauge, category 2 cables to work with this switch. For runs up to 15ft, use 24AWG. For runs of 20ft or more, use 22AWG.
Another thing to keep in mind is that the HDMI connection is poorly designed and is often iffy with having to also enable HDCP.

If I wasn't getting video along with no audio, then I'd probably blame the cable, but it was just audio that was the problem. The cables are all high quality, so I wasn't concerned with the cable.. plus I rotated the cables and the ports.

Yeah that is very strange. The only alternatives seem to be what you have done or send a separate audio signal to your TV or audio receiver.
