Just a couple of questions about it

I heard that the battery life is not all that great on these. What would be the average battery length?

Does surfing on the internet use up alot of battery power

and Black or White

Go to Apple.com, it has the battery info (I was looking at one last week), and Black.

I use mine very regularly, more for surfing than phoning, and I usually drain half the power in an average day. If you are just using it as a phone, it will last for days, if you browse a lot, you will usually have to plug it in nightly. One cool thing though, it will fully charge from empty in just over an hour.

I surf moderately and the battery lasts me 2 days on average. It's like any device, the more you use it the more it kills the battery.

I use mine quite a bit and I have to charge the battery daily. I find getting push emails from my works exchange server really drains the battery quite a bit. But if I switch it to manual and turn off the 3G, like I do when I'm on vacation I can go three days without a charge.
