Yes it is, I've got one and am VERY happy with it. Paid $499 for it a month ago.
The only complaint I have is that the sRGB mode (which lets you use a normal colour palette for Windows and games and such, rather than having the blown out over saturated look high gamut panels usually have) visibly dithers in the deep grays and almost blacks.. a bit annoying but they're apparently working on a firmware fix.
So if you are really picky this might be an issue (there's a thread on HardOCP's forums about the monitor with the info in there), I'll wait for the update and either get the update applied or ask for a replacement monitor to fix that issue.
Otherwise the monitor is great! Some people report a colour issue from left to right (i.e. one side of the monitor is more green, the other more pink), but I didn't get one like that. If you do exchange it.

Everyone go and buy the slingbox you will not regret it! Have to go to bed with the mrs and she wont let you watch tv? Turn the old slingbox on your computer and BAM! Need to go on a vacation or trip and will miss a flames game. Find an internet connection and turn on the slingbox and you can watch iggy score lots of goals

That TB drive is tempting...I'm unsure of Iomega though, anyone know the OEM of the drives?

Aww hell I'm totally on the edge for this monitor right now but given your comments on uncertainly of flashing firmware I might as well wait...

I thinking my mom may enjoy that ebook reader. It seems like a good deal, and a review of it on Youtube shows it refreshing pages smoothly.

That one is a USB 2.0. For the shaw pvr, you need an eSata drive.

2 different people asked me at work about monitors on Monday and on tuesday. The first guy bought 3 of these, and the second guy bought 1. We have a couple of the same ones at work.
I bought those eneloop batteries today. Alway thought about it, so finally acted on it.
