Default NEW Hip-Hop songs/mixtapes/albums

I'm gonna start posting new songs, mixtapes and album suggestions or leaks that I get hooked up with and find from various outlets.

CP isn't exactly a major port for rap music or news pertaining to rap music, but based on the decent response from the "hip-hop youtube thread", I thought I'd keep it moving with new stuff that some of the CP, hip-hop listeners may like.

You can always hear my radio show on 90.9FM in Calgary or www.cjsw.com on the web (Friday nights, 9:00p mtn) for your True School fix, but I always try to get out those new joints too. Dirty Needles

I noticed some Lupe love, so it was only fitting that I share his new mixtape which dropped earlier on Wednesday night.

Lupe Fiasco - Enemy Of The State: A Love Story

Enjoy!

Not really sure if these fit here but a couple of good sites for new hip hop songs are http://hotnewhiphop.com/ and http://www.djbooth.net/index/tracks/.

Stray: your link was the second that I've tried. Does anyone have a link that has the songs separated into different tracks?

It was meant to be without track separations like the old cassette style mixtapes. Any of the official downloads will be one long track until somebody breaks it up on their own and uploads it.

Thanks Stray!
Love your show too, and although I don't listen anymore being in Van, I follow you on Twitter and love using it as a resource for some new and old tracks.

Also, 2nd nod for DJBooth as recommended above, I get most of my new stuff there.

Timbaland - Shock Value II is decent, a bit of auto tunes.. but a lot of nice tracks in that album.

The mixtape was meant to be one full track, like a classic mixtape. But, they also released it separated into tracks. This one should work for you.

I appreciate that! You can still listen to us on-line if you're around a computer - Live stream is on www.cjsw.com.

Lupe starts with a Radiohead sample too, love it.

Reminds me of Us Placers.... (Thom Yorke -Eraser cover)

Another of my favorite new rappers:
Charles Hamilton - Brooklyn Girls
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FyvGvV2mXs

Some more gangsta stuff (warning - NSFW language)
Rich Boy - Ghetto Rich ft. John Legend, Nas & Lil Wayne

First heard this one on Dirty Needles
Rick Ross feat Nas - Usual Suspects

Shout out CJSW in general too. Man, how much I wish we had good college radio in Vancouver. For all the slack Calgary gets for not being an art friendly city, CJSW puts a the options in Van to shame.

Not a whole lot of new songs or leaks because of the US Thanksgiving, but this popped up on Okayplayer/2DopeBoyz and I thought it would be of interest.

Statik Selektah has a new album coming out, "100 Proof: The Hangover", but this track is going to appear on the prelude EP called, "The Pre-Game". Bahamadia rips the mic and it's a nice, smooth track that I think the CP faithful will enjoy.

I'll be playing it on Dirty Needles this Friday.

'Do What I Believe' - Statik Selektah feat. Bahamadia

Kidz In The Hall have their LRG collabo, "Professional Leisure FreEP" coming out on Tuesday (12/8). Last leak before the official.

I'll post the link for the entire mixtape on Tuesday. In the meantime...

'We Gone' - Kidz In The Hall

If you don't know, now you know.

The new 50 album, before I self destruct is not the best album, but the best overall deal. You get: the album (a few bangers, one club track...my fav is sugar hill gang remake), the movie that he produced under his own production label (bad acting, but good story, 50 wrote it, and decent production values) and then the piece de resistance is a documentary of Jason Mizell. All of you who know him, should buy this album to get the doc. All of you who don't know him, should buy the album or watch the doc to learn of one of the realest figures hip hop has ever known.

The movie is an hour and 20, and the doc is nearly two hours.

I was skeptical at first, since I don't think 50 needs my dough, but my friend copped it and I am impressed with the overal product.

A lot of value for your dollar.

And I just can't get enough of this track, it's gunit but man it gets you fired up:

it's off terminate on site.

Don't forget Music Box. The best out of the 5 hands down. This song would have been one of the best ones on Relapse. The bass is ridiculous.
