Default Old TV works with PS3?

Will a TV with only the yellow/white inputs work with a PS3? I'm asking this because I know that the standard cable has the yellow, white and RED cords, but the TV (at my parents house) only has the yellow/white inputs if I remember correctly. Thanks.

The yellow is for video, the white is audio, your parents old TV doesn't have stereo speakers. usually when using only one audio it's the red from the system.

I think it does like T@T said. I just put mine into my 1990 Trinitron and it still looks great. When you plug everything in, just hold down the power button for about 5 seconds until it beeps. That resets the video output to Standard Definition. Hope it works with the yellow/white output though.

if not having the 2nd audio jack causes problems, you can get a converter for only a couple dollars that will have 2 female inputs and 1 male output. something like this:

This reminds me of a story. When PS3 first came out a buddy of mine bought one. He is not very technically inclined so I went over to play some games and questioned why he didn't hook up through HDMI. So I set it up for him but I had to unplug the HDMI from the DVD player since he didn't have an extra. After I left he plugged the HDMI back into the DVD.

The next day his wife whom I work with calls me and asks me to talk to him because he can't get his PS3 to work and he was litterally about to smash it because he has a bit of a temper. Luckily I did a quick google search and called him with that fix before he smashed it.

But yeah I hook up my PS3 through regular video on my old school TV to play PS1 games because they look so horrible on LCD.
