Default How Many Accidents?

First snowfall of the year, everyone forgets how to drive. I'm going to guess 225 reported accidents on the news tonight. 14th street is a sh*tshow. To go from my apartment in bankview to the timmys on 17th and 10th and back to marda loop took 50 minutes.

I think the community of Bankview needs to put up signs on 26th ave warning shortcutters that they're in for a world of hurt unless they've got good tires.

175 is my guess.

+1 to the city for having the plows out at a reasonable time, but -2 for not sanding anywhere. WDF?

I'm quite fortunate that I have a route from MacKenzie Towne to Mount Royal that involves only one interchange. No nasty hills to try and climb, thank god.

Just in case I forgot later - I can stay home all day if I please and work remotely. Suckers!

I'm going to go look from my balcony at all the people still trying to get to work thru the snow, so if you're around the corner of 5th and 8th downtown, look way up high and give me the finger.

They're sanding 14th street down the hill from 26th to 17th, but there's an accident on it at 24th and the fire dept. has the bottom of the hill closed (assumably so that people dont slide right into E/W traffic on 17th).

Friggin funny trying to get out of Bankview. Saw one woman trying to climb one of the steeper hills in a VW golf. Not gonna happen, honey!

I feel bad for all the people that are going to discover hit and run damage on their cars today.

Bah, I turned back around and came home this morning. Winter tires are due to go on Thursday but that doesn't help me as I'm supposed to be in Edmonton for meetings the next two days and I have heavily worn summer tires on the car right now. Suck it Ol' Man Winter.

Default Idiots, idiots everywhere!

I am guessing the accidents will be pushing the hundred mark today... People are such idiots on the road... wow... Does the snow suck the brains out of people?... seriously?

I was driving at 6am, and none of the streets I was on were plowed. Including Glenmore Trail.

Between 70th Ave SW and 9th Ave SW, and back. I witnessed 7 accidents, fender benders to a van head-on into a light standard across from Chinook mall on Macleod Tr. I thought the van was going to run right into me!

What a show! I just put on my winter tires Friday, thank goodness!!

In Nokians I trust!

Wow SportsJunky we're twins! I made it half way to work then said screw it!! But the earliest I could get my winter tires booked to get on is the 23rd.... How'd you get booked in so quick?? and where?? Hopefully the roads are good until then.
And ya my summer tires are shiet!! Luckily I'm a contractor and don't have to work if I don't want to.

Eat me Jack Frost!!

I saw one car slide through the right turn lane into the intersection of Beddington and Berkshire and t-bone a car coming through the light and saw almost three more in the 10 minutes I was waiting for my bus, and then my bus rear-ended a RAV4 at the light of Beddington and Centre Street, where the bus driver got out and yelled at the lady he hit because she didn't get out of his way as he was sliding down the hill. What a disaster.

Home Road is a mess and shut-down. Lots of cars in the ditch. The surrounding community is also full of stalled cars that can't get up the hill.

Some people are so stupid. On my way out of bankview, I was coming down a hill, following a pontiac grand am. It started sliding, so she started honking to the person in front of her (who was on flat ground) as an indication to get out of the way... The ###### slammed on the brakes.

Disaster is right.

About the same as the number of f-bombs I dropped today on my drive into work. 137.

###### OR smart enough to write-off a POS Car?

I was supposed to go to Red Deer this morning, I have decided that using the VPN is in my best interest.
