Amazon.com ships electronics, computers, more to Canada! - Update, won't ship much...

This is great, there's been tons of times I wanted to order something from Amazon.com but couldn't because they didn't ship that item to Canada, or it was a lot cheaper on Amazon.com

No real TVs available yet, but the more competition the better. I know Newegg.ca has gotten some poor reviews here but I've found a few good deals if I keep my eyes open.

I thought a lot of these restrictions stem from the manufacturers/government and aren't Amazon's decision. That would be flooding the Canadian market with cheaper goods than are available here and there would be a huge legal battle with that. If you can start ordering this stuff on Amazon, then it means they lifted the restriction and you will be able to order elsewhere too (ie bestbuy.com).
Checking your second link... it appears most of the products that are available are only the usual products allowed in the canadian market... most of the good stuff still isn't allowed. Oh well, good to at least have another competitor for the products we have here already. Surprised you can order a SB5101 cable modem though... I thought companies in Canada no longer register them unless purchased directly from them?

Sweet, hopefully we will soon be able to buy EVERYTHING from .com, and they just get rid of .ca. But as BlackArcher mentioned, with the cheaper goods, I don't think it will happen.

It may have something to do with manufacturer's warranties, as when you buy say a TV in the States, it isn't covered in Canada. So until these manufacturers get onside we won't see a full range of products and since these manufacturers won't want to give up their free raping and pillaging license up north here, it may take a while.

I recently heard of a site that will ship you things over the border. I'll have to do some digging to figure out which company it was.

Too bad board games cannot be shipped to Canada. Damn you Amazon for making my put up with Sentry Box's price gouging.

The shipping fees seem very high for that site to Canada.
