Default What's the best weapon for eliminating prowlers?

Based upon the threat about the prowler, I'm wondering what people think would be the best weapon for eliminating prowlers, not counting firearms and animals?

I think it's best to eliminate the prowler because then you don't have to worry about him coming back for revenge. So what would be the best weapon to take him out as quickly as possible? A knife? A bat? Crowbar? Axe? Cat o' nine tails?

For human prowlers, the best weapon is your telephone.

While you can probally do some damage by throwing your phone at them, I learnt from deadliest warrior its probally not THE best way, as its a one time use thing. I guess if you have a landline you can swing it by the cord like a ball and chain?

Just wear a US Postal Service Uniform. They'll run away screaming and you'll never have to worry about seeing them again.

Landmines are too aggressive and they'll damage your house if you get a bad hail storm.

This thread turned into awesome with the Robocop references.

I would say well lit areas are a good thing. These guys don't want to be seen.
