Default BB Curve 8310 vs 8320 vs 8900

hoping to get some input here.

My wife is looking to buy a blackberry curve from Rogers here in the near future.

I told her she should just buy the 8900, but she doesnt want to pay the extra $75.

So it is down to the 8310 vs 8320. They are the same except the 10 has GPS while the 20 has WIFI. I told her to get the WIFI, as she would rarely use the GPS anyways. Any thoughts? I was thinking that while traveling she would be able to surf and get emails without paying roaming charges, and maybe even the possibilites of using VIOP instead of long distance minutes (not sure if this is acutally possible)

Thanks

The extra $75 will get you both.

The 8900 has better screen resolution and a much nicer camera and imo is a better looking phone. I have always found camera phones to be utterly useless... until I got a phone that actually has a decent camera. A good camera combined with e-mail/data capabilities is surprisingly useful.

I also prefer the new OS on the 8900 compared to the old one.

If she is still not sold..

I think the wifi would be more useful.. especially if you will be travelling in the future. Not sure if you can use VOIP though.. I don't think skype has made a blackberry app yet.

Edit.. I have an 8900

I've been debating this as well.

Or maybe not, I'm debating between the bold and javelin. Not sure of the model numbers.

Oh, upon a quick search, 8900 is new curve and 8300 is old curve.
I'd go with the new. Faster, more optiosn, new OS, I've tried both.

Hmmm..

picked up the 8900, convinced her that it was the better phone (hopefully it is, haha).

On a side note, anyone delt with customer relations are Rogers (or retentions). I swear that they try to confuse the hell out of you, and make you call back 4 times to get anywhere.

So how seamless does the WIFI work. Can I set it to find all free hotspots before connecting to the wireless network or is it more difficult than that?

Honestly I haven't used it that much.

The only places I have tried it out are at home and at work and both places the network I was using was the only one in range. When I did use it though the connection was effortless, very simple to use.

I usually just end up using the data included in my plan. I thought in the first month I would have to be careful about going over and use my wifi when at home, but BB's use very little data. I have never gone over.. and I occasionally have to download my voicemails from my office line which are some pretty beefy .wav files.

The most data I have ever used has been 200mb/month.

I suspect she will be happy with the phone. I really like it.
