Default Xbox Disc Tray Jammed

Yesterday, I was playing on my xbox and all of a sudden, the console turned off, and in the process, it was flashing two red light and ejected the disk tray before it powered off.

So I tried turning on the console to get the disk tray back in but it just wouldn't move. Now I have an xbox disc tray that won't open or close, and I tried manually ejecting it but that still won't get it to open and close on its own.

Customer service is useless and they're saying I have to send it in to get it repaired, and the warranty expired on it.

Is there anything else I can try before I send it in? The console itself works fine, its just the disc tray that won't open or close.

Don't know if this is what you mean by manually ejecting it, but I saw this, BUT HAVE NOT TRIED IT MYSELF.

Yeah that's what I meant by manually ejecting it. But in that one, it still open on its own when you just give the tray a little help from the paper clip but mine doesn't even move.

Ugh the warranty on it is only 1 year, but for RROD its 3 years. Is there anyway to induce an RROD on my console?

Not endorsing it, but I've heard leaving it on wrapped in a towel for an hour is a quick way to induce the RROD.

Course, it's also a good way to start a fire in your house.

i thought that was how you fix the RROD (at least temporarily) since you're melting the broken parts backtogether or somethin

Can it actually cause a fire in the process? I mean it'll get hot but not hot enough to catch fire...
