How to best inorm the Government your moving?

Just a quick question we are moving within the city and I know one of the people we have to notify is the Government of Canada so what is the best way to notify them of this I've called numerous times today and they keep saying their agents are all busy and too call back at another time.

Get an 8.5 * 11 sheet of paper and write your name, address, and write the following: "I plan to assassinate the governor general.
 Ps. Please note updated address."

Put it in an envelope, affix sufficient postage*, and mail it to the government.

 *specifically none-at-all

Why do you have to notify the government that you are moving? It's nobody's business but your own... I believe the freedom of mobility is an affirmed right in the Charter.

.. am I missing something?

... you don't need postage to mail the government. Just an address.

It was mainly for the our Child Care tax benefit to quote the back of the page it says in bold letters "You must inform us if you move your payments maybe stopped whether you recieve them by cheque or direct deposit if we do not receive your new mailing address".

Then definately change your address on the CRA website, or call CRA, or I think you can fax in a change of address too.

Exactly.

Just go to the CRA website and call the number listed. Have your most recent tax return handy or else they ask you a million questions in order to "identify" you. I actually tried to change my address when I didn't have my tax return handy and I failed at answering the questions to prove that I was me. Go figure.

this is incorrect... for CRA you can phone any of the numbers for CCTB/GSTC/Tax/AFETC to change your address with all of them I would suggest phone AFETC (1-800-959-2809) as that line is the least busy.

You would think so... last year when I went to vote my name was on the voter's registration list twice, in two different districts with two different addresses!
