Default A little help..

Ok, so I haven't been able to run my OneCare tune-up in a few months because it always freezes my computer up during the defrag. I downloaded a separate defrag program and it worked fine, but today I tried to run it and three times it froze on the exact same file. I tried scanning the file with antivirus but that wouldn't work, so I sent it to the recycle bin and there it sits. Now anytime I open the recycle bin to permanently delete the file, it freezes the entire computer.

I've restarted ad nauseum and have just resorted to leaving it where it is. But should I want to ever delete anything again, I'm gonna have to figure out what to do with this stupid file (it's a .bmp file, btw).

Any advice/tips/suggestions?

Some links to some apps to try in that thread.

Restore it first, not sure if those apps will work if it's in the recycle bin.

Instead of opening the recycle bin, have you tried just right clicking on it and then clicking empty or does that freeze it too?

I actually just did that in Safe Mode and it seems to have done the trick. Thanks a million to you and photon
