Default WTF is wrong with my gmail?

I have three gmail accounts. One is for work and it has tons of stuff in it like pdfs and all kinds of attachments, but it works fine. Plus I usually have 100+ emails in my inbox, but it loads just as fast as it always did.

The next one I rarely use, but it also loads fine.

The third one is my personal email. I'm using 11% of capacity for 863 megs. It takes forever to load. Most of the time I just switch to basic view to hurry it up. I've cleaned everything out of the inbox, but it still takes forever to load. WTF?

Doubtful the amount of mail in your account is going to affect anything -- and certainly attachments aren't going to be a factor in simply operating the system.

Do you archive any mail or just leave it in the Inbox? A large amount of mail in the inbox might slow the system down a bit.

Chances are it's a browser/cache issue. I'd try another browser, or clear out all cached data and re-test.

I am using IE7 and mine works fine.

I would suggest switching back to IE from FireFox.

Boo...... IE must die and go away forever!

Or at least have everyone upgrade to IE7 at once and do away with legacy crap that requires IE6. %$#*! IE6.

/rant

Gmail runs fine for me in Firefox, Safari, Chrome and IE7 (really only use Firefox though).

If IE6 is the browser being used, I HIGHLY recommend upgrading. It's javascript engine is slow. IE7 is a bit better, but it's not quite as smooth as Firefox. IE8 is apparently a lot faster, but I haven't bothered trying it.

The speed of the javascript engine will directly affect the speed of Gmail.

Mine also runs top notch in Firefox. I wouldn't even consider using IE for anything. I use so many Firefox addons a day including Gmail notifier that IE is like a long lost bad memory.

Did you tweak any of the Gmail settings? Especially the optional beta ones?

I just assumed that this was "one of those things that happened"; I've had this happen the odd time to my one gmail account. I just assumed that - gasp - it could be a problem/issue at that particular time on google's end .

Turn off the Google labs feature. That fixed my mother's gmail which was getting messed up by Google Labs being on for some reason.
