Still hard to fathom....

Even after all the accounts of these camps, the endless movies made, the first-hand accounts given by my grandfather, I still have a hard time wrapping my head around this. I hope the world never ever forgets what happened.

"One day, he said, the Nazi guards lined them up and told some to go right, others left. He went left and his father went right and was taken to the gas chamber."

In Elie Wiesel's "Night" he shows how one Jewish guy was working at the incinerator throwing dead bodies into the oven, and he had to throw his own father's in...

I can't even imagine how terrible that would be. I would flat out kill myself if I had to go through that.

Fantastic book - everyone should read that one. The most powerful thing I've ever read.

Shake Hands with the Devil by Romeo Dallaire is another must for everyone. I felt physically ill after I finished this one.
