Default Appriciation thread for QC Posters

Well since this is the last game the QC Flames, I just want to give my personal appreciation and thanks to all the QC posters on this board. I know many others who frequent this board (but not nessasarly post) appreciate it as well.

Hoody
PIMking
dobbles
SparkyOne
Drunk Skunk

I'm probably missing some, but those are 5 names I regularly see giving us updates.

Thanks guys

I'd like to extend my appreciation for the QC regulars for all their hard work and informative posts this year.

I'd also like to apologize for my poorly-thought-out post in the main forum. Rather than seeming like me being excited to get some young legs up in the bigs, it came across like I was poking fun at the end of the Quad City era.

And since we're at it, thanks to the QC Flames players and staff for their hard work this season. Ryan McGill and the crew have produced a great deal of great, great call-ups this year and still managed to get within a hair of the playoffs despite missing key players for significant portions of the season.

It sucks that things could not have worked out better in the QC. I thought they were going to be there for a long time.

While its still not a done deal, its a 90% done deal... it just remains to be seen what happens if the AHL says no to Abbotsford.

If the Flames leave, which they almost certainly will, I will miss them greatly. I've never really had a particular team in the NHL that I cheered for, so I pretty much adopted Calgary when the Flames came here. I've enjoyed reading the forums, both on and off topic. I plan to stay around even if the QC Flames don't. Its too bad things didn't turn out differently.

What a great game tonight though!

its been a lot of fun. while i may argue a lot in the main forums about avery and the red wings, i always love good discussion about the baby flames. its too bad we weren't able to keep the team longer. lots of good memories for sure though.

Thanks for continuous updates for the past 2 seasons QC guys. We always loved your insights and enjoy hearing about our prospect. It is truly sad that you are to miss the playoffs, but even sadder that the QC Flames will no longer exist.

Thanks so much guys,
Here's to you (They didn't have a sad drinking emoticon, so this is the best I could)

I swear I about lost it during the tribute video following last night's game. A lot of fun memories for such a brief span of time...

It was cool how the players stood and watched it too, rather than just skating off to the locker room or something.

If there's one group of people NOT to blame for any of this, its the hundreds of hardcore fans who went to almost every game, traveled to away games, bought jersey auction jerseys, etc, etc. I'll never understand why the more casual fans (like me) didn't come out in droves. I sure loved watching them play.

Kudos to all of you QC'ers out there for everything you've brought to this board.

The information you guys have been providing on a daily basis is one of the reason CalgaryPuck is such a vibrant community. You're insight and opinions keeps all of us informed (and also makes us look like geniuses when we talk to our "less educated" friends... )

It's still disppointing that the QC experiment didn't work out and we truly feel for you guys down there.

Anyways, thanks for everything!

I think Ryan McGill could get a shot in the NHL one of these years. He has shown that he can take a rag tag group of really young guys teach them a system and win (maybe not at first but our last month or two have been great with all kinds of injuries and other than greentree and ugh Chucko no real fowards)

This is going to be a good team next year also as long as Backlund doesnt make the bigs and some other guys.

I will be here forever. I always like calgary and I think my hate for the coilers makes it even better.

Although I wont be around the qc area next winter its not a tough to me but it still just plain sucks.

I cant wait until Irving is starting goalie for the Flames so I can say I watched his rookie season! I have met people that I would of never met like I would consider a very good friend in Rob AKA Dobbles. Drunk skunk and Sparky one.

I would put our Hardcore fans up against any other fan base in this league.

I know I have been to over 95 games in the last two years. I try to travel as long as it dont interfere with my hockey games.

Heres to winning the cup this year!

GO FLAMES GO!

Thanks for the good words. While I was not one of the more prominent voices here, I enjoyed trying to make sure that everyone could at least read about the baby club. It has been fun, and I wish the Flames good fortune wherever they end up. I also look forward to seeing "our" guys in the show. We don't get to see Calgary play on the tube very often around here of course, but it will be cool to see them when we can.

I will keep up the articles as long as there are pieces pertaining to Calgary, but probably not after the team officially takes up residence somewhere else. Sorry, I will become a fan of a new team hopefully and will continue on with them. I'm sure you understand.

I will continue to wear my flaming 'C' sweater with pride though. I just love that thing.

My thanks as well....mine were more overall impressions, but I did try to share what I could!

And the CP folks have been great! A veritable wealth of information when we made the Calgary trip. Especially Aeneas, who was kind enough to send me a ton of information that made our planning much easier, and thefanblogger, who befriended us at the Monday practices and tried so hard to pull strings so that we could talk to our guys!! We wouldn't have had nearly the fun without all of you guys....several times when we drove past something, I'd comment that somebody had posted about that on CP and we really should stop....

I'm going to hold out hope for the baby Flames until somebody totally slams the door. I think the players are, as well....another STHer saw a player at the grocery store last week. The player was excited because the guys had just heard a rumor that they might not have to leave. "How great would that be?" he asked.

How great, indeed. If they stay, I hope the casual fans have learned something in the experience. If they go, I'll have wonderful memories....and will be roadtripping next season to see "our boys" when they're in the Midwest!

In the meantime, here's hoping that the QC kids can help Calgary in their date with Lord Stanley!!!

I don't think the players wanted to leave the ice! That final salute was awesome....they just skated around, acknowledging the cheers. And nobody wanted to be the first guy off....

I know I don't post on here very often, but I do come on here and read the boards.

It has been fun watching our boys grow as a team. They had been playing really great as of late. It's a shame they fell shy of a point to make the playoffs. It feels like we are losing our family. I love these guys. We have become so close with them and espeically Vandy. He is a friend of the family. I wish them the best of luck wherever they may play, hoping by some miracle they will be back here again next season. I will keep track of them and will always be a fan of Calgary. I love the Calgary Flames as well. It's a shame we aren't able to watch them here very often, although I have caught quite a few of their games online.

GO FLAMES GO!

BEAT THOSE BLACKHAWKS!

You guys are great and hopefully you guys can stick around (although I would fully understand if you are soured on the Flames organisation). Tilley remains a great contributor to this site even though Omaha seems like a distant memory now. We still have some good posters on here from the Saint John days.

I hope some of you guys can go to Chicago in the next week or two to continue to support your baby Flames in person.

Thanks guys and hope to see you stick around.

As others have said, thanks to all the QC area posters. I am one of the many here who read the "Back Burner" with regularity. I was always rewarded with plenty of information on Calgary's prospects.

I am really disappointed that we are moving again. I have reservations about Abbotsford. I always wanted to do a roadtrip to see the minor affiliate; started thinking about it in the Salt Lake city days. Never have yet. Going to Abbotsford doesn't seem as interesting.

Hope to see some of you stick on the forums, and if not well good luck in the future. Even the rabid Red Wing fan!

Vandermeer, Cunning, another player I can't remember and McGill were all on the late news last night. Every one said they didn't want to leave the QC.....which they really didn't have to say, since technically they're already gone.

Said they knew the crowds weren't always large, but that the fans were always loud and they always knew we were behind them. Made it fun to play here....
