Default Happy 40th Birthday Internet

Yes folks, the infamous Internet is 40 years young today. It is debatable as to when the Internet was born, but Jian Gomeshi (the host of Q on CBC Radio) just announced it, so I'm going to roll with it.

By the way, just by being on this website you are celebrating Internet's birthday. I'm sure Internet thanks you.

Well, I would go with the birth of the Internet as being the first day data went over it.

Which is October 29, 1969. link

Who knows what today is. The day the cable was run? The day one of the computers was built?

We should thank Al Gore. He is the one that created the internet. He even said so

Without the internet who would have introduced me to Goatse, Lemonparty and Tubgirl? (if you don't know what those are, google at your own risk.)

Now that I know what those are I feel a need to watch them so I am part of the "cool kids" that know what they are. But I don't want to watch them. Dilemma.

I'm going to wait until I'm not at work. Sounds dangerous.

You'll want to wash your eyes out with battery acid after.

Or maybe not, I can't think of much worse punishment than those to be your last ever sight.

Ah yes.... and who could forget other internet greats like Meatspin or two girls one cup...

I'm getting all nostalgic over here.
