I have been dying for the Bloomberg app for my blackberry. I just downloaded it and while its not nearly as cool as the iPhone its better than nothing.

Overall the apps are decent so far...hopefully there are a ton of developers and this gets better and better!

I wish Apple would do something like this.

As an apple fan I'm very pleased to see competitors stepping up to the plate like this. Apple is really good at heading in the right direction, but I feel they often need somebody breathing down their neck to really improve beyond a certain point (ie amazon offering drm-free music).

I downloaded The Hockey News app since it was free. To be honest it is pretty good. I used to use NHL Mobile Game Center live to check scores. The Hockey News app is pretty superior to that for checking live scores and stats.

Any of you guys find the phone to be laggy when you're browsing the apps? It was fine yesterday when I first downloaded it, but this morning it was pretty bad. I'm using a Bold.

I downloaded the hockey news app about a month ago and its pretty great. The updates are a little bit slow though.. usually about 10 minutes behind.

Viigo is ok... Google Maps app is way better then the Maps app that came with my BB.

Anybody found any good (preferably free) apps?

Apps that I have for my Bold 9000 (some that I've got from the Apps store, some elsewhere):
- WeatherBug
- Gmail for mobile
- Google Maps
- Facebook
- Myspace
- Google Talk
- AIM
- BB Tetris
- Shazam
- BerryUnitConverter
- Staples Easy Button
- Google Sync
- MaraTick
- MidpSSH
- QuickPull
- Speedtest
- Crackberry Apps Store
- BlackBerry App World
- Nobex Radio Companion
- iheartradio
- FlyCast

I had the Hockey News app but found that I didn't use it, that the articles were lame , and the scores were late being updated (m.nhl.com and wap.sportsnet.ca/index.php?region=WEST are sooo much better)

ya... I use my blackberry too much...

Some are free, some aren't. If you download just the free apps, you shouldn't require a pay pal account.

Though if you send me your banking information, I will happily add you to my account...
