Default Any interest in starting a Superleagues Ball Hockey Team?

Hey everyone. Is anyone out there interested in starting up a super leagues team ( calgary.superleagues.ca )? I've got like 5 guys right now who are thinking about it and wondering if anyone has friends or wants to help round out a roster?

That was started last year at some point, but unfortunately the idea never got off the ground.

looks like it's a 20 game season + playoffs with 2 games a week (making it a 10 week season + playoffs) for 225.00 a player.

I'd be interested, again, as long as it would be after May 15th. Pretty much 95% of my evenings will be dedicated to studying until then.

the season looks like it starts may 3rd i think. After this sunday I'll have solid numbers as to how many people I have ready for the team. We'd need 14 people (minimum).

I currently have a team in there... Div 5.. . We are full up, but I can tell something about the leauge.

IT is a tonne of fun and a great workout.

5 on 5 full arena ball hockey. Stats are kept. And there are refs.

They even have a pump-up video!

How good of hockey is it Helsa? I think i might try to get a team together but was wondering what division would be a good fit. Some of us have played competitive hockey and some none at all. Around Div 3 or 4? or lower?

Likely lower if some havent played competitive hockey. It is very competitive. If you start in Div 6 and kill everyone they will bump you up to Div 4 or 5 after a few games. They do alot of reshuffling to ensure competitiveness. New teams will rarely even be allowed to start in higher divisions.

As an example. My ball hockey team has been finalists in the Mount Royal College Ball hockey for the past 3 seasons, but we play in Div 5.

Yes, I am still interested, and I'm sure most of that list in the link I left would be interested as well.

The problem was getting someone to ACTUALLY put in a team and pay for it.

The way the league works is the Captain is responsible for his fees and a 300 dollar deposit (for fines/no shows). Everyone on the team then pays individually. This way the Captain is not on the hook for 5000

I am also interested, but I havent really played any kind of hockey for a few years, so Id prefer to be in a lower division to start...

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

Okay if there's enough guys interested here, I'll put up the team deposit and all that mumbo jumbo on Sunday. But we'd then need to have 14 guys registered by april 25th. I have about 5 guys (including me).

I think we'd start in the lower ones in Tier 4. 6 or 7 I'd imagine.
