The state of our global economy: foreclosures, evictions, bankruptcies, layoffs, abandoned projects, and the people and industries caught in the middle. It can be difficult to capture financial pressures in photographs, but here a few recent glimpses into some of the places and lives affected by what some are calling the "Great Recession".
That first picture looks like SimCity. All you have to do is try and build a road where all that rubble is and some asshat will put a house up pretty quick.
Also, I think it's spelled "jerbs".

Well, I'm no recession denier, but I'm a bit skeptical about some of those pictures and/or the descriptions underneath. For all we know, those could have been line ups to get into Disneyland. And was Brittney Nance sticking a smoke in her mouth? If you can't afford a house, quitting smoking should probably be a priority.
As someone currently residing in Mid-Michigan that picture looks all to familiar to the scene around much of this area. It's pretty depressing to drive past factories and realize that they used to be the source of income for thousands of workers and that they now sit abandoned.

Dodge SUVs sit parked in the Atlantic Marine Terminal at the port of Baltimore February 18, 2009 in Baltimore, Maryland. As the worldwide economic downturn persists and automobile sales continue to slow, more than 57,000 new automobiles sit idle in the port of Maryland. The state of Maryland recently paid $5.26 million for almost 15 acres of additional car storage space near the port, freeing space for more cargo
No wonder the auto industry is in the crapper; why in the world would they keep building these vehicles when they have so much inventory? I would think that once they got to 10,000 or so, someone would have said STOP

You're skeptical that people are lining up for hours upon hours to get a job in this economy? Seriously?

Well when you're stuck with a work force you can't lay off may as well pay them to build cars than pay them to play cards...
That one pic was right out of sim city for. Some absentee gamer obviously forgot to properly water that area. There is a brown briefcase with a red X through it on those for sure

The problem with the housing picture is quite obviously that the developers attempted to place a traffic circle at the access point to this section of houses (mid left of the picture).
