Am posting this for a friend - he is trying to find a new, authentic Red jersey from the '89 era. He needs a Large & wants the back to be blank or have "ROBERTS" on it. He's willing to pay for it too but having no luck tracking one down via the traditional channels (and this includes contacting the Flames office). Unfortunately, the replica vintages are notoriously inaccurate in terms of lettering font and especially the size of the C.
Hmm, never really looked that closely, but now that you mention it the C looks much larger than I remember it. I'd love to get my hands on a good quality jersey that's actually from 89, but I haven't seen very many of those on the market.
Yes, I actually have an authentic from those days (bought new in 1995, when they were on sale after the pedestals came out) and the "C" logo is much smaller and the white on is a bit duller, then those "new" ones. Also, the stripes along the bottom don't come up as high as they do on the "new" old replicas.
