Good Restaurant in Banff - Review of FUZE
Hey CP
Looking for recommendations on a good fine dining restaurant in Banff. Looking to take my gf out for her b-day, some place where we can get dressed up nice. Looking for a place that's expensive, but worth it for the food
Thanks

Our AAA Five Diamond award winning restaurant is an exquisite dining experience, offering French cuisine with regional accents. Combined with Eden’s Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence and ALTO award winning service, this restaurant provides each guest with the finest in dining, service and the most scenic views in Banff. Wine sommeliers are on staff to offer the best wine paring to compliment the experience.

Maple Leaf is my favorite. Grizzly House is a close second.

I didnt have any dessert, but it looked good. If you want a good meal thats not going to empty your pockets (grizzly house) I recommend
EDIT: there's also a little italian place in the same vacinity as the movie theatre. Its just a little house all by itself that was turned into a restaurant. The name escapes me though

One thing to note about Grizzly House is that if you are dressing up nice then plan to go elsewhere after your clothes will smell of the food. Great food and fondue is unique but the smell after can be much at times.

Yeah I was looking at the Grizzly house
Thanks for the article....but I think we don't want to have our clothes smell like Fondue for the next couple of days
Eden looks Swanky =)
EDIT: I love the magpie, but we were thinking a romantic dinner.

Oh my, so many recommendations for the Stump. Locals avoid it like the plague. I honestly don't know a single person who has eaten there.
Eden is a good choice, ate there a couple of times. Banffshire Club at the Springs is supposedly good as well, but they lost their 5 diamond status. Maple Leaf would be the next best place based on your requirements. Grizzly is good as well, but not really that much of a dress up type of place. I would also recommend Fuze. Beaujolais is supposed to be pretty good, but haven't been there yet.
IMO, don't go to the Stump or Masala. Everything else is pretty much standard fare.

I don't get the love in for Grizzly House. I've eaten there, and I found it was hot and stuffy in the restaurant, and the food to be sub par and expensive. Yeah, it's "eclectic" but I certainly wouldn't be taking a date there anytime soon, unless she specifically asked to see it.
Banffshire is pretty good, but you better take out a small loan to go there. Especially if you have wine with dinner. I haven't tried Maple Leaf but have heard decent things about it. Could be worth a gander.

I can't believe this discussion is being taken seriously - THERE ARE NO GOOD RESTAURANTS IN BANFF - THEY ARE ALL MEDIOCRE CRAP DESIGNED TO RIP OFF JAPANESE AND GERMAN TOURISTS.

+1. Don't listen to anything else for the high-end pricey type suggestion. This, although very pricey, is the best restaurant in Banff...by far. You will be high on food. And then the $400 bill will come.

Looking at Eden as #1
Maple as #2
and Fuze #3
Going to check with the gf to see what she thinks.
By the way Troutman, she saw your post and was bugging me about the "Is she just a good girlfriend" part
I told good enough to take her to a place like Eden
Thanks for the advice guys. After this trip, it'll be canned soup and instant noodles for the month of March...
