Totally vouch for the VH plum sauce. I eat that stuff with anything that needs a dip.

- McCain frozen chocolate cakes are pretty good and cheap. I usually just bring those to potlucks, lol
- Many of the Classico pasta sauces. My fave is the basil, oregano something or other.
- Can't remember the brand, but they make these amazing mozzarella sticks. Simply sublime; easy snack, just throw it in the oven
- No name breadsticks and cheese....yum

I have no comments on this BBQ sauce since it isn't locally available to me but for a cheap store brand BBQ sauce, I recommend Sobeys' Our Compliments Kansas City Style BBQ sauce.

Those Casa di mama instant pizzas - Surprisingly good, best instant pizzas, better than those crappy mcain pizzas that never turn out right. Dr Oetker pies are actually decent too.

The best prepared pizzas I've tried would be the generic ones from Costco.

VH plum sauce - All other plum sauces are garbage compared.

Kraft Dinner Sharp Chedder - In these recessed times this kraft dinner is 10 times chessier and tastier than the classic one, I even did a taste test.

I'd go for the Spirals over either of these. Spirals rule over all other type of mac & cheese.

Yams - Buy a big yam for 50 cents, slice it up thinly and chuck in the oven, they actually taste good burnt, like candy.

Also known as sweet potatoes, cut them up. Toss in olive oil, salt and pepper. Put them in a cold oven and set it to 425. Cook for about 20 minutes after the oven has come to temperature, flip once during that time.

Yams and Sweet Potatoes are actually different vegetables. Sweet Potatoes are the darker, orange colored of the two. Both are very good for you. I have 'em three, sometimes four times a week. Roasted in the oven, they retain their nutritional value.

Also, Japanese Daikon Radish is great sliced thin on sandwiches or in salads. It was a mild taste and a crunchy texture.

While that's true, most grocery stores don't know the difference and tend to use the terms interchangeably.

If you go to Superstore the generic brand of Beef Jerkey is excellent. $6 for 200g, I like Original and Hickory. $6 will get you about 85g of branded Jerkey (I believe). I wear braces however so I can't eat Jerkey, but in 3 months I will be eating it by the pound.

Superstore brand also has crazy good Dill Pickle chips, so much seasoning on those.

sweet potatoes are actually the lighter colored ones..the yams are dark orange..the best way i like my yams is to wrap them whole, in foil and bake until the sugar runs out of them...sweet potatoes are good in potato salad too..substitute half reg. potatoes for sweet ones

Sobey's brand potato chips are way cheaper than Lay's or something like that, and they are just as good. Potato chip lovers should check them out.

Superstore/No Name brand potato chips are great and at $1.25 or so a bag, they're about half the cost of the branded types. As said before, I am partial to the Dill Pickle variety but Sour Cream and Onion and Salt and Vinegar are good as well. Unfortunately the Ketchup flavour is more similar to Lay's than I'd like (Old Dutch rules that court).

Renee's brand salad dressings (though I've only had their Caesar and Balsamic) are good as well but costly.

The ripple Buffalo Wing and Blue Cheese is amazing aswell, Superstore's 3 peppercorn ranch dressing is awesome for dipping Buffalo Wing's also.

I tried this brand of frozen lasagna at Safeway called "Eating Right"....Italian chicken tomato kind. Best frozen lasagna bar none.

the best chip for nachos is El Molino yellow deli rounds.

They hold their shape if baked with cheese and don't break easily if loaded up with salsa (the way that Tostitos do).

Tostitos salsa con queso is the best store bought nacho cheese. Check the price though - safeway, save on, sobeys, etc sell it for about $4.99 per jar - which is ridiculous because Mac's and 7-11 will often sell it for under $4.00, which tells you just how much the mark up at the grocer's is.

I'm sure she's right, Reggie. Yams are orange and sweet potatoes are yellow. When I was a kid, my mother would roast a yam and mash it. I thought it'd gag a maggot. My wife, however, roasts yams, mashes them with oatmeal, cranberries and brown sugar and bakes them with marshmallows on top. Instant tasty.

Oh, yeah, put me down for VH plum sauce, too.

I use VH Teriyaki sauce for the stir fry's that I prepare. It is the best teriyaki sauce that I've tried.

It appears that VH gets quite the rave reviews on here.
