That's odd. Back when I went to Carrol it was hard to even get people to attend at school, much less care enough about it to bring in weapons.
Seriously though, that's some unfortunate news.

So, for those of us who didn't go to school in Calgary- where is this school? (So I know where to avoid on the drive home.)

Crowchild Tr. and Richard Road.

Back when I went there, we had a couple lockdowns. Odds are some dumb ass brought an exacto knife, or even a swiss-army knife.

Bishop Carroll is traditionally too relaxed for violence. I'm frankly surprised there's students still there at 1:30pm on a friday.

Though Crowchild is not a road affected. Mount Royal Gate and Richard Road are backed up, however.

Yep, we either dumped our ID cards at noon and went for a 2 hour lunch... or ducked out between 1 and 1:30.

Apparently someone had a gun... but there's no confirmation of that. I have my doubts on that being true... but the schools have to act swiftly regardless.

I went to Carroll--it was a very relaxed atmosphere back then, but that was like 15 years ago. Surprising--and disturbing--news. Hopefully this ends without incident, but that doesn't sound good.

Come on, give us the inside story. Did the police beat you? Was there even a guy with a gun? Was it a gun-shaped sandwich?

My 7 year old son's elementary school in Bowness was locked down this week, because some teenager held up a little kid for money with a knife.
