Default Email tech support

This is a very odd situation that I haven’t seen before.

I was corresponding with someone via email, and we had sent a few back and forth throughout the day. I sent it back to them and didn’t get a response for a couple of hours. The person then emailed me because they were expecting my response wondering why I hadn’t responded.

I said I had responded. They said they didn’t get it so I tried to forward it again.

Again, they couldn’t receive that specific email; however I could correspond with them back and forth in emails not associated with the original email in question.

The email was not exceeding any size issues. It is being sent out from my email, and it goes to the sent box, but the other person doesn’t get it ever. It’s not in their junk box or anything.

I tried copying the text from the email and creating a new one and pasting it in and resending and they still don’t get it.

I tried getting rid of all the formatting and resend just the plain text in a new email and they still don’t get it.

Anyone have any ideas? Maybe a word filter or something?

Does it send if you cut out all text excluding your response?

Sounds like it's either getting caught in a poorly designed spam filter, or it might contain some messed up text encoding that is causing something along the chain to break.

I'd also check to make sure something isn't messed up in your "To:" box in the email client. Likely not the case, but I've done it to myself in the past.

Considering how awful a communications protocol email is, I'm surprised we don't see things like this more often.

Tell them to check their spam filter - perhaps a specific word. I have seen that happen before.

Once I had to change an email because a guy's initials (2 stinkin' letters) were flagging it as spam.

If their company uses a 3rd party hosted spam filter check that. Those wont appear in outlook. With us you have to login to our intranet site to check whats been quarantined - you also get weekly emails about it.

Would that have been Mr Fred Upshaw, or Brian Stevens? FU/BS

PK

I tried talking Peter into changing his name, but he was hesitant.
