Dell's 12 days of Christmas Deals
www.dell.ca/daysofdeals
A few things of note today- Bluetooth headset for $11 and a Harmony remote on for cheap.
I was also looking at their entry level laptops. They have the 1525 with Pentium Dual Core, 2GB RAM and DVD burner on for $550. Usually they have the Celeron with 1 GB and DVD ROM for that much.

Damn you harmony with your remotes. I have upgraded twice, and refuse to again until something breaks.
Also there was a great deal on a hot swap sata drive bay yesterday - 19.99.

Lots of good stuff today, good thing the stuff I wanted sold out. The media extender, and the eBook reader too!

Anyone thinking about those speakers, I've had them for a couple years and they are great. I paid almost double that and haven't regretted it.

I have for when I workout in the basement. Dont know if it's worth it though since I plan on moving into an apartment in the coming months and will probably join a gym and sell my weights.

Saturday deal includes a 42" Plasma HDTV
Sanyo AVP-4232 42-Inch Plasma HDTV
regularly $1199.99 for $699.99!
Sanyo was never the greatest in the old CRT days, but maybe they are better nowadays?

The guys over at Red Flag Deals don't think it's much of a deal, but for some of them if it isn't pricemached 8 times and their favourite brand sometimes they don't like it.
However there was mention of a Samsung for $799 at Leons. http://www.leons.ca/shared/product/p...=120508lnxmas2
I might be tempted to get that Samsung for $100 more. Better reputation, better reviews, 3 HDMI instead of 2.
There could also be better deals come boxing week.

Anyone have any thoughts on that iomega digital AV media player?
Or any thoughts on networking your music collection into the home stereo? I am trying to figure out the best way to deal with our music library. We have 2 laptops, but I want to keep all music and photos in a central place (external hard drive?) and be able to play the music over the stereo.
I am thinking of buying an apple airport express and trying that, but I am still not sure of the best way/place to store all the music (and photos). Any suggestions appreciated.

DNS-323 or similar, basically a home NAS device, throw a couple of drives in it, have them mirror to protect against drive failure, and you've got place to put all your files.
http://www.apple.com/timecapsule/wireless.html
Or a Time Capsule if you're a mac guy, though those only have 1HDD so hard drive failure is still a risk.
There's some other NAS type devices out there, ones more sophisticated if you wanted to run linux on it and do some other more advanced stuff.

Thanks Photon. I did some digging into this device, have you used it?
I am wondering how you would update your IPOD, the library being on the NAS, and only showing up as a shared library in itunes. In my current itunes sharing you can't update an IPOD on 1 computer with music shared from another computer. Would you have to have whatever music you wanted on your ipod saved to a local computer as well in order to update your ipod?
At any rate, thanks for the idea.
