External monitor on macbook?

Just a quick question. I'm looking for a widescreen monitor to be able to hook up to my macbook. It says that it has a mini-DVI port on the macbook but I want to make sure that (with the proper adapters) I can hook up a monitor similar to this one:

I'm just trying to set up a workspace for when I'm writing and would like the larger screen so I can have multiple windows open at once but still be able to read them well. Any input on that monitor or other deals for comparable monitors would be great as well. Thanks in advance.

You need a Mini DVi --> VGA cord. About $27. London drugs has them, as does the Apple Store obviously. Then you can use any monitor.

What you need is a MiniDVI to DVI adaptor if you want to run that monitor on your Macbook. I hook my Macbook up to a 24" Dell LCD, so you shouldn't have any problems.

Finding that adaptor can prove troublesome since they are in high demand (every store seems perpetually sold out). I ordered my adaptors via the Apple.ca Store and they came within 4 days.
