Default WotLK: Release Date

November 13, 2009

Anyone know if EB Games is getting it in that day and how much it is to pre-order? I assume $10 down or something.

Who cares, only losers play that game. Just kidding. I can't wait, usually EB does a midnight release for games like this. Not sure if i'm gonna stand in line for that but will definitely pre-order,pickup on thursday, and call in sick on friday. lol. After playing beta i'm excited to see the new content and also make this my last wow expansion after punching arthas in his stupid lich king face.

Based on the last expansion, I'd say going to the trouble of a pre-order will be pointless. Every store in the city had about 400,000 copies of The Burning Crusade.

I've been mucking about in the beta a bit. The new shadow system is damn pretty.

Looks like I'm going to have to avoid the internet for a few months until this blows over. I promised myself that I wouldn't get caught up in WoW again, but I'd be lying if I said that this didn't pull at me.

And yeah, I wouldn't bother pre-ordering. I'd say your chances of not finding a copy are slim to none. Heck, I think they are selling them at 7-11 this time around.

I didn't get a beta key. Oh well, there are still lots of things to keep me busy. I've been leveling an alt, or perhaps I'll finally get around to the Naaru quests on my main.

I just started playing WoW a couple of weeks ago. I saw the Mr.T commercial and became curious about it - and man it's addictive. I upgraded to the Burning Crusade already.

Will the new expansion be available through digital download right away?

Not to sound like too much of a gomer, but we should form a CP guild...

Just leveled my second toon to 70 on the weekend. Kinda amazing I'm only at two given I've been playing since the original release date. Looking forward to this expansion.

When I was playing of my own accord, it took me over a year to reach lvl 60 (then the cap). Soon as a friend starting playing and dragged me back into the game, I got a 60 in under 3 months.

The best part of the game occurs before the level cap in my opinion. Raiding is an exercise in pulling your nose hair out one by one while PVP tends to be a gigantic complaining fest at the highest levels (yeah, so I'm a druid, what of it? ).

I received a beta key on the weekend, but I haven't been able to play it yet. The beta client itself is almost 2GB, and once it's installed, you need to download another 1.14GB patch. Since Blizzard's downloader uses bittorrent and my ISP throttles bittorrent traffic, getting the required files has been a painful process.

There are plenty of sites with direct downloads and torrents for the files, check out:

It took me a while to realize what this thread was about... I kept looking at 'WotLK' and wondering wtf it meant. Then it dawned on me... it's nerd speak.

Which ISP do you have? I have Shaw but havn't noticed much throttling going on. The Blizzard Downloader doesn't seem like it's capable of much more then 100 Kbps.

It took me roughly 8 hours (most of it while I was sleeping) to download and install the beta client + patches.

There is a single HTTP download included among the BitTorrent traffic. I've noticed it accounts for about 70% of my total download speed, but occasionally will get terminated. Restarting the download program will reinitialize the connections and resume downloading where you left off.

If that doesn't work, you can also find the clients here: http://wotlkwiki.info/index.php/Client_and_Patches

Can't we build out lv55 starting death knights on any server?
We could build a CP DK guild...since I'm 99% sure all of us are on other servers.

I play on The Venture Co. horde side of course, alliance is for kids.
