Default Free Recover software

Hi guys, I was hoping someone might know of some free software that could help me recover some pictures that were accidentally deleted off my memory card on my camera. Its not a huge deal if I don't get them back, but I had some good pictures of some wildlife I would like to get back.

Thanks.

did you take photos already over top of the ones you deleted on the memory card? IF so I think youre SOL... Im pretty sure you can recover deleted ones as long as you havent replaced them.. there is software though to try to get them back: use google to find one thats free.

I don't really have an answer, however, aren't most camera cards
formatted using FAT or FAT32?

If so, shouldn't a FAT undelete command work? Old Norton Utilities
had it way back when.

I'm sure there are freeware or Linux usable software for it.
Does the Ubuntu LiveCD support this?

Something like this:

NOTE: I would highly suggest trying to find a reputable site you
trust for the download. IOW, be very careful, the above is only
an example.

The above program can also work on hard drives... I used it on a damaged hard drive that the OS would not even recognize or open and recovered all of my lost pictures and then some. It is actually frightening what it could recover, there were pictures that I had deleted months ago.
