Some NHL 09 overalls leaked....
http://www.operationsports.com/media...?id=492&page=3
You can see the overalls for the top 8 players from each team. Looks like EA brought down the overalls for star players a bit which is good. There's some crazy ones though....Rhett Warrener 81, Regehr 87 and Phaneuf 86

Why does Iggy only have 2 years left on his contract? All the other Flames have their proper terms... Did they think Iginla locked down for five more years would make things too easy for the Flames?
Edit: wtf... Chara a 93 and Phaneuf an 86? Did an Oiler fan do these ratings?
Forsberg 95, Sakic 89
Modano 82(?!), Warrener 81
Hemsky 87, Phaneuf 86
This just goes from bad to worse.

the weirdest part for me as a wings fan is that chelios is rated 84!!! he is the 2nd best denseman on the team behind lidstrom! the guy is most likely going to be a healthy scratch a good portion of this year! rafalski, kronwall, and stuart are all hands down better. chelios is now competing with guys like lilja an dlebda to even be a 5/6 guy...
i would also like to x2 the forsberg amazement. maybe if the game could somehow emulate that he only plays 13 games a season, it might be more realistic, but to make one of the best players in the game a guy that never plays, and isn't even close to playing this year, its just sad.

It would be nice if it were realistic in the sense that Forsberg will play 10 games for your team, then be injured for 4 months, then play 5 more games and then done for the season.

we can only hope the 360 and ps3 are advanced enough to handle this scenario!

I've stopped paying attention to these ratings and started giving more weight to the core attributes (speed, shot power, accuracy). I find there are many stats (offensive awareness for example) that don't actually matter a whole lot, but can still drive stats up or down. For instance, a player can have massive stats for speed, shot power, shot accuracy, but if they are horrible at faceoffs, it will hurt their overall. Meanwhile a player like Yanic Perrault who is generally brutal will be rated very similarly because his faceoff stats are so high.

Exactly, and EA even said as much last year. They said that you will find that players who are rated in the low 70's may be top 6 players and yet you may have guys in the high 70's in the minors. I know I could do nothing with Dustin Boyd last year if he was on the big squad, yet I lit it up with Moss. If Boyd was in QC, he was one of my better scorers. I believe Moss was a 73 last year and Boyd a 78.

My biggest beef isn't the ratings, it's the contract terms. I don't understand how they can get the amount of years or $$$ wrong. Hopefully those can be edited before starting a season, I remember 08 I could edit the $$$ but not the years.
