Default InDesign Question

Hey photoshop gurus. Apparently someone at my work saved a bunch of INDD files as read only. We need to be able to manipulate these files so the read only has got to go. I don't have the files or program or anything, just wonder if anyone here has a suggestion. Thanks.

Right click the file in windows explorer and remove the read only in the file properties? Or is it more complex than that.

I'm not sure, I asked her if she tried that and haven't heard back.

edit: She says she did try that but it didn't work.

Chances are, the files are secured with a master password. This is done so the files can be safely shared without risk of them being re-edited be someone else.

Kind of like how you can lock a spreadsheet in Excel (with a password) so that no one else can edit the formulas or layout, etc.

No problem! I had that issue for a while, and I played with it for a while until I learned that little trick!

Glad it helped!
