Default PETA ad compares Greyhound bus attack to slaughtering animals

Good old crazy PETA. I am always reminded of that South Park episode where the PETA guys get married to all the different animals in their little commune when I see things like this.

The thing is, I actually agree that animals used for food should be treated more humanely. I love meat, but I'm opposed to cruelty to animals, even those I'm just going to eat. So what I'm saying is--I'm in a demographic that SHOULD be at least a little bit receptive to PETA's message.

But I'm not--and tasteless stuff like this is the reason. This is why PETA has such a negative reputation--because they pull crap like this that just alienates everyone except for the most intransigent ideologues. Talk about an organization that needs to rethink its public relations strategy.

Classy. Using a tragedy to advance their own agenda. They might as well use 9/11 for their next add.

This reminds me of that one time I was on the LRT, and a cow sat beside me and all of the sudden NINJA ATTACK and it was steak for dinner. Damn, those were the days.

PETA is the standard for taking an admirable message and absolutely wrecking it, by how they communicate it. PETA sucks.

I understand making headlines and being controversial and raising "brand awareness", but do they actually believe this kind of thing will attract people to the cause?

Come on now, nobody is going to see this ad and go to the Furry Side.

Pretty clever though, trying to run it in the Portage paper. Manitoba farm country has long been considered "the next San Francisco" when it comes to causes like this.

A little OT, but did anyone catch what Greyhounds new advertisement slogan was meant to be?

"there's a reason you've never heard of bus rage"

Needless to say that was pulled.

Dear PETA,

For your sake and ours, please stick to using naked chicks to promote your message.

Sincerely,

PETA has really opened my eyes. The next time I cut down a tree for firewood I'm going to compare it to the decapitation of a human. Because, you know, it's the same thing.

You think that's bad; think of all the dandelions you've decapitated.

Those poor, helpless dandelions. "Momma had a baby" indeed.

I wonder if PETA-freaks swat mosquitos, or just watch them suck their blood. Viva West Nile!

Yep, wouldn't matter if there was a treatment either considering they never take medication.
