Towncars will take you almost anywhere in the city for 40bucks I think. Probably about the same as a cab.

There is Airport Shuttle Express (I think that's their name), which has a booth right outside the Canada Customs arrivals exit/meeting area (which is just down from the domestic arrivals) by all the rental car counters.
One time I used them to get from the airport to my place and we swung by the Greyhound station to drop a couple of people off, so they will do that.

For shuttles from the airport, you don't need to pre-book, just walk up to the counter, and they'll put you on the next available shuttle.

Ugh. A bus from the airport, what a nightmare. Take a cab to the bus station or at least to the nearest train station, which is probably McKnight/Westwinds, then take a ride on the Ankle Express to the bus station, which shouldn't be far from the train..
I don't even know what a towncar is, but I wouldn't think a cab ride from the airport to the Greyhound station would be 40 bucks, especially at 10:30 in the morning.

Unless the Cabs have a set rate of going downtown from the Airport (I have no idea) I think its over $40... From the airport to my house is already nearly $20 and I live in Panorama.
I agree with the Shuttle Express, its probably your best option.

Ugh, Calgary has the least pedestrian friendly greyhound terminal of all time. I'd guess it's about 1.5 km from the nearest c-train station and all the sidewalks end about 1/2 km away from the teminal unless you happen to approach it on ninth avenue/bow trail which involves taking your life IH your hands.

Bus 57 goes to the airport and the whitehorn Ctrain station. From there you can take the Ctrain to downtown.
 It will cost you 2.50

2.50? It was two bucks last November wasn't it? Inflation is lame.
So take a bus to the train, then the train downtown, then a cab to the bus station? Hah, I forgot how easy it was to get around that fair city. That shuttle is lookin' pretty good.

The shuttle is around 32 bucks per person.
You can train it all the way to 10th st station. from 10th st station, it's a 6 block walk.

Yeah I would take a bus to the LRT and then take a cab to the Greyhound from the last stop downtown -- because as was alraedy mentioned its damn near impossible to get to by foot from downtown, its such an odd location.

as you get off the train station on 10th, i would walk towards 9th ave. There's an overpass when you walk past the millennium park that will lead you right into the bus depot.
 Good luck.

Haha, thanks buzzard but I think we've all been heavily trained to not offer rides to strangers.... especially INTERNET strangers!
Fobby has given me everything thing I need to get there without too much trouble. Really that's all a guy can ask for!

			Weird, according to their website:
	Quote:

		| Airporter Shuttle Express no longer provides airport scheduled bus service between the Calgary Airport and the downtown hotels. Currently, we no longer provide residential 'ride-shared' service for the individual traveler between your home and the airport....only for groups.
Airport Shuttle Express has been operating since 1998 being Calgary's first ride-share; service. Unfortunately, Calgary economic climate was such that we had to cancel the ride-share as well as the downtown service for lack steady employees and concentrate our business on our charter market.
 |
Strange that a strong economy forces a business out of business, but I guess it can happen. When I went to Europe last year, I was going to use the Airport Shuttle but their cost was only marginally cheaper than a taxi, so I just took a taxi.

It looks like Sun Dog Tours now offers the shuttle to the Greyhound terminal: http://news.cheapflights.com/airline...ys-new-ai.html
