Walmart/Rock Band bundle recall - Calgarypuck Forums - The Unofficial Calgary Flames Fan Community

So I go into my local Walmart store to purchase the Rock Band Bundle for PS2 for my kids, because they had awesome report cards.

I grab the box off the shelf cause its on sale for 99.83. I take it to the check out, proceed to pay for it and "DO NOT SELL" comes up on the check out screen. Both the clerk and I are dumbfounded by this.
Apparently some sort of a recall has been placed on the Rock Band bundle for PS2, Wii and XBox360. The stores wont tell you why. I have had other people by the bundle the day before and there doesnt seem to be anything wrong with them.

Does anyone know whats going on with this???

I'm guessing it's the drum pedal. My replacement hasn't shown up and it's been 4 weeks. My replacement guitar (ordered at the same time) came in 5 days. Hopefully this means i'll get a redesigned one.

Ya my pedal broke in about 5 days....I have a PS3...will they just send you a new one? I just used some hockey tape to put it back together and it worked fine

The flimsy plastic pedals break on these all the time. Industrious people bolt on metal plates to them.

hey guys,
sorry but I forgot all about this thread.
my kids picked up their rock band this past friday.
apparently it wasnt a recall problem at all with walmart.
It had to do with a UPC code problem.
My kids have it and love it. I have to kick their ass out of the house.
anyways thats all I got.

We were told by Wal Mart that all the Rock band bundles had been recalled as well. Apparently it was only the bundles at Wal Mart according to some kid at EB games.

He told us the versions Wal Mart had didn't have the French wording on/in the box and they couldn't sell them.

No other stores had that problem but Wal Mart was telling people that the game was recalled everywhere.

Don't know if it's true or not but that was according to some dude at EB Games.

I doubt there is anything wrong with the rockband bundle. I know my brother tried picking up a new xbox360 at Wallmart last week, and was told that they were recalled. He went to EB games a few days later and bought one. They never heard of any such recall there...

So it seems Wallmarts electronics department is having technical difficulties around the city.

no news on any of the video games sites about a recall either.
