Anyone have this problem: When watching TV through out Shaw DVR, every so often the sound just cuts out for a second or two and then comes back. It seems to be from the feed as rewinding does not help, the soundtrack is just gone for that second or two.
I'm having the exact same problem and Shaw came out the next day to investigate. They chnaged some of the connections in the house as well went out to the box on the street and changed some connections there. The problem has gotten better but still happens on a less frequent basis. I have them coming out to do switch my phone and internet to shaw and I'm thinking I'm going to get them to bring a new box.
Just curious, did you happen to buy your cable box from Best Buy?
I have the same problem with both my Bell HD STBs. It could be from the source or the connections or in the case of HD, the lack of bandwidth. My guess is part of the problem is the software isn't sophisticated enough.
I have heard of this issue before. Im not sure if its just DVR or HD Reciever related as well. http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=73915
This website has multiple forums about this issue related to shaw. I know its not just a shaw thing, but it seems like Shaw seems to have the worst audio drop outs.
Hmm, I thought I was the only one. It usually happens 2 or 3 times per movie, just not enough to urge me to call. I've had a few shows that are worse than others tho, I have no idea why.

Same here. They added a booster unit which has really improved things on my end.
Been having the same issue. It's widespread problem apparently. This sound cut out and channel flickering is getting on my nerves. Especially when it does it to a point the channel is unwatchable!
Like many others I thought I was the only one with this problem. I thought it was because I used inexpensive wires to hook up my speakers to the receiver. I guess not. I bought my pvr directly from Shaw. I'll have to ask my brother in law about this (who works at Shaw)
