Sharks take game 1 and look forward to another "home ice disadvantage" against the Wings again in game 2. In a series where the opposing team has home ice 4 times, we couldn't be happier to hear this!
Belfour played strong again and Hossa notched his 8th and 9th goals of the playoffs. Since being called out by GM Ryan after game 3 or 4 of the 1st round, Hossa has been on FIRE, moving into first in goals scored in the playoffs and a tie for first for points by a RW.
Prior to the game, coach Hanlon made it clear that in order to stop the Wings, the playoffs leading point-getter Olli Jokinen would have to be stopped and the Sharks did a great job of doing that this first game, allowing him only one assist. That will have to continue in order for the Sharks to walk away with a series win and a birth in the Cup Final.
