Dodgers lost anyways at around 1am :P

Can't believe how bad Detroit is starting the year. Swept at home by the ROYALS!

Yeah at the time it was 1-1 w/ the delay. In the end i was a little less angry, but still, how many leads can you relinquish in a game. Especially when you have one of the better NL bullpens. Screw trevor huffman. When they introduced him as the all time MLB saves leader I thought to myself, "oh crap, this guy is way to old". Low and behold he got jacked. I couldn't believe he kept throwing his changeup when guys were expecting it.

As for the royals, if you listen to Game on on HCSR/ the score, Gabe and Cam have a policy where they bet on the royals every day. Apparently the lines are so skewered against them that for two years in a row they are in the green. Value baby, value!

Yeah, it's like an extension of their second half collapse last year. What I can't figure is how that lineup gets shut down that many games in a row by the Royals. You'd think with the addition of Cabrera that it would be the most damaging lineup in Baseball or close to it.

Granderson
Polanco
Sheffield
Ordonez
Cabrera
Guillen
Rodiriguez
Renteria

and I forget who else they use but that should be a pretty deadline lineup.

INGE!

One problem is that they play in a park that's HUGE!
Bring back Tiger Stadium

I miss the old days of those upper deck moon shots down the line. The second deck over hanging the outfield fence by 5 feet was a unique aspect. Of course to dead center Tiger Stadium was like 440 feet to hit it out. Once you got past the power alley's that park was a pretty cavernous too. Didn't they bring the fence in a bit at Comerica the past couple of years?

yeah, they brought in the left field fence from the line out to left centre. made a big difference.

I am glad that when I was about 13 or 14 my aunt took me down to Tiger Stadium from London. I have seen very few MLB stadiums, but I am glad I got to see TS before they built Comerica. I even got to watch my cousins ride the merry go round!

Also seen Skydome, SF Park, where we sat in right field (not a single jack into McCubby tho ), and this summer Safeco (boy is my head ever gonna hurt from those freaking trains).

I have always wanted to the 30 stadiums in 30 days trip.

Holy..I take back what I said about Detroit being stacked.. They're AWFUL.

Can't hit, can't catch, can't pitch. Lost 6 homes games in a row.

They'll be lucky to finish .500 with a $140 million payroll.

Safeco is fantastic, you'll barely notice the trains.

I've been to (now demolished) Veteran's Stadium in Philly, Baltimore's Camden Yards and the Ballpark in Arlington, Texas (and Safeco). I liked all of them in some way, though the Vet was a bit boring (and friggin huge, it seated 60,000+ I believe). I'd love to do the 30 in 30 thing, too.

I've been to Skydome, Shea, and Fenway.

The atmosphere and overall experience at Fenway was just fantastic. Great crowd, good beer, good food, singing 'Sweet Caroline'........just a great time.

I've only ever been to the old KingDome. Which in a way I guess is unique now. Now that I'm a bit further West and about as far South as you can be in Western Canada I'm hoping to make it to Seattle to take in a couple of games this year. The experience of going to a MLB ballpark and spending an entire day there from batting practice to the game itself is a one thing MLB will always be able to use to attract people to the games.

Detroit 0 - Boston 5
Tigers commit 2 errors and 6 walks.

Let's start a contest.

The Tigers will be 1 and (fill in the blank)

My answer is 1 and 10. They will win on saturday.

Nice tribute to a very emotional Bill Buckner in Boston yesterday. He had a hard time speaking afterward. He said he had to forgive the media for all the turmoil they had cuased him and his family. Good on the fans for giving him a very rousing ovation.

Evan_Longoria

Tampa Bay extends 3B and their top prospect Evan Longoria for 6 years and it could be as many as 9. Interestingly they purposefully kept him off thier roster for the first 13 days of the season so that he couldn't become a free agent until 2014. 6 years and 17 million dollars is the guarantees for this deal. I wonder if we'll see a lot more of this as low revenue teams try to assemble cores to keep together so they can have 3-4 shots at being a playoff team when their players mature.
