Default Problem with HDTV from Shaw

I just set up a new HD-PVR from Shaw for my mom, and the non-HD channels work fine. But on the HD channels, there is no video, only audio. What could be the reason for this happening? The back of the TV has room for the HD component cables from Shaw, and says it's a 480i/480p TV. Any idea what the problem might be? Shaw is sending a rep out tomorrow morning, but I'd rather not have them come out if it's a simple fix...

Edit - Sigh, it looks like the TV is simply not an HD-TV. Damnit...

Yeah HD is 720p, 1080i or 1080p or higher.

Even though it is a non HD TV it should still be able to pick up the HD channels and in my experience the picture will be very good. Try changing the Set Top Box to output 480i or 480p. If this doesn't work use a non HD connection such as S-video or composite connections.

To change the output of the shaw HD box, turn the power off, keep the TV on, and push the MENU button for the set top box.
