Default In need of halloween costume help

I have to go to a 1980s themed halloween party.

Being a slacker, I dont have a costume yet. So Im looking for ideas.

Costume shops seem to be sold out of anything good (IE. Ghostbusters or Beetlejuice.)

Anyone know where I can find something in Calgary so close to halloween?

Or better yet, any ideas on something I can put together myself???? Please help with an 80s themed costume for a guy!!!

Go as Micheal Jackson, lovingly caress a chucky doll, while carrying a ET Lunch box.

Pink shirt, white jacket, big sunglasses and you're Don Johnson from Miami Vice.

I've seen a lot of pictures of people who've posted their Halloween photos on Facebook. At every single one there is a guy with a box... it's strapped to his groin... and is dressed like Justin Timberlake.

Go to Value Village. Their Hallowe'en section will probably be mostly gone, but you can go through the men's clothing section and find some really old rocker t-shirts and acid wash jeans. Get a mullet wig and you're good to go.

If you want something quintessentially 80's just go out and buy yourself a long hair wig...get skin tight faded black jeans...a black t-shirt with something sinister printed on it and the sleeves torn apart. Add on the make up and you can say you're a glam or hair rocker.

Anything with a mask sucks. It severely limits alcohol consumption, pus they are annoying, hot and sweaty.

What you should do is go as the baseball fury's from the movie the warriors.

The greatest costumes i have tossed together so far. We had 4 warriors and 2 Fury's this year.

The janitor from the Breakfast Club. Or even the teacher. Or John Bender... hell there are 5 or 6 characters from that movie alone that you could dress up as with just normal clothes. I guess it's kind of obscure, but at least you'll be comfortable and not a party-pooper (no costume). Those are the two main goals of a Halloween costume as far as I'm concerned.

Marty McFly, Max Headroom, Axl Rose. BA Baracas is always a winner if you commit (aka "get the haircut").

An 80's themed Halloween party is a good idea.

Some more obscure ideas..... :-)

Throw a bra on your head and go as Wyatt or Gary?

Encyclopedia Britannica Kid? (might get you beat up)

Or if you dress normal.. another option is that you are manimal in human form....

Ha Ha, John Bender was the first thing I was going to say too. That is quintessentially and 80's character and wouldn't be hard to do with regular clothes from Value Village. That's where we get all our Halloween clothes.

You could always dress up as the Stanley Cup and be 1989. Better yet, go as Lanny.

Lanny is the best option so far. Just get a fake red stache, or grow one if you can in a day, die your hair temp red. Throw on a Flames jersey with Lanny on the back, I am sure there is 123423423 million floating around and bam, you got yourself the most loved costume in Calgary.

You will get so many "oh maaaaaaan, I remember when they won that cup in 89'..."

Just got in from the bar, went as my own Facebook profile page (for those that have me on facebook the pictures should be up tomorrow).

I got HUGE reactions. I had a section of my costume for "the wall" which was completely signed in. It was great to have scantily clad girls stop you, say how awesome your costume was, then you tell them to sign your wall (which coincidentally was around my waist) and kneel at your feet giving you a great view of their . . . ummm . . . "talent".

If/when I get a chance I'll post a picture of the costume.

Saw a guy at the bar last night in the same. Definitely best costume of the year IMO.
