as i've mentioned before that America's Got Talent show has become a guilty pleasure of mine, and damnit if this guy doesn't win the whole damn thing i'll be quite pissed. he kicks the crap out of anyone i've seen on any American Idol show or any of it's ripoffs (including AGT) and he deserves a big record contract. i even bought his band's CD from their site (www.woodbelly.com) because for $10 you can't go wrong. he kinda reminds me off a cross between Sublime/Blind Melon, but i think he has a better voice than Shannon Hoon or Brad Nowell
because of him alone i'm now glued to my TV every friggin Tuesday night
I never bothered with those TV talentshow thingies -- in fact have never heard of this particular show.
But it's refreshing to see someone who obviously doesn't fit the "Pop Star" image get his due. Sort of how a Janis Joplin was able to succeed in her day.

that's why this show has hooked me. it's not just singers who fit the sterotypical star mold, you have full bands, magicians, comics, acrobatic acts, and whatever the hell else shows up. the show itself is still very cheesy and i can't stand jerry springer, but the actual talent that they show is much more entertaining than any of the other similar reality shows
Cas is great, but Terry deserved to win hands down.
Really? I wasn't too crazy about Terry. I liked his impressions, but you could usually see his lips moving. I just didn't really like it. I thought Cass would win it.
well i thought back then they had 20 or so contestants that if either Cas Haley or Terry Fator won i'd be happy, so having them be one and two is pretty good. it was probably better that Terry won as now he gets to headline in Vegas and Cas will be getting a record deal regardless. it should be interesting to see just how big each of them becomes

that's about as close as any ventriloquist can get to talking without moving their lips. plus the guy is singing (with an incredible voice) and doing impersonations at the same time. he deserved to win for the multitasking alone. hell the man sings Tony Bennett as good as Tony Bennett does

I agree about his impressions, but I have definitely seen better ventriloquist acts before. I don't think he's terrible, but I don't think he should have won, IMO.

I dont think his ventriliquist act really mattered. He likely could have just stood there alone and done impressions and would have won.

yep. and while you may find better ventriloquists who could straight up talk, i dare you to find one who could sing like that and move his lips as little as Terry Fator does
Thanks for this. There is probably no way I would have ever watched that show (and not just cause I dont have cable) but this is a GREAT band. Nothing I love more than discovering some new music.
Cool. I never watched this show but both those guys (the singer and the ventriloquist/impersonator/singer) are both very talent guys and that was fun to watch.
