Car bomb explodes at Glasgow airport. Flights cancelled.
This morning....this a day after British authorities found 2 car bombs in London.
They are not sure if this was some fundamentalist nutbars yet or not, but the bombs in London are almost certainly going to be linked to Al Queda or one of the similar groups.

well, no explosion, just a car on fire...too much of a coincidence for there not to be a connection - luckily, the idiots seem to be totally incompetant in both Glasgow and London...

i was just in glasgow.
the airport has concrete stantions (like at the liquour stores) to prevent this sort of thing.
apparently the range rover got stuck in the entrance doors and therefore no lives were lost.
and they caught the two guys right away. good.

Obviously the British gov't under direct orders from Dick Cheney is setting up bombs in the city in order for the new PM to gain more approval for the war in Iraq. But unlike the US, Gordon Brown is unwilling to actually kill his own people ao it will do little for support in the war... Of course Cheney was under direction of Jerry Falwell who is not actually dead but now installed as Head of the Illuminati taking place of Jimmy Hoffa...
In all seriousness I'm glad those bombs didn't go off as they could have done serious damage. That part of town in London is always highly active and there would have been plenty of people out on the town to be victims of this cowardly act.

The vehicle "suddenly caught fire" as one of the two -- himself on fire -- tried to open up the back of the car, Manson told British television.

one of the terrorists was trying to push the range rover into the building. and was actively trying to throw gas on folk.
apparently it was a jeep cherokee and not a range rover.

Reason: it was a jeep cherokee not a range rover.

One account I read said that the on fire dude actually set himself on fire, gleefully.

Doctors at heart of UK terror probe
http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/europe...ors/index.html
Quote:
"Investigators believe a network of up to a dozen medics from the Middle East were sent to infiltrate [Britain's National] Health Service as a cover for terrorist operations," reported The Daily Telegraph in Australia, where two doctors were being questioned about the plot.
|
Quote:
Police have identified one of the men suspected in the Glasgow attack as a 27-year-old Iraqi doctor, Bilal Abdulla, who worked at Royal Alexandra Hospital in the Scottish metropolis. The other man in the car is in critical condition with severe burns at Royal Alexandra. British media have identified him as Dr. Khalid Ahmed.
Police reportedly were tracking both men since Friday, when they were linked to two car bombs parked in central London.
Two other suspects, described only as 25- and 28-year-old men, were detained Monday at Royal Alexandra after police searched doctors' quarters there. Police have not indicated whether the men are doctors.
In Australia, police were questioning two doctors Monday, one of whom, Mohammed Haneef, 27, was an Indian national working at a Brisbane hospital, Australian officials said.
Haneef formerly worked at a hospital in Liverpool, England, where hospital and police officials say another doctor was detained Sunday. Haneef was detained at Brisbane Airport before he boarded a flight to India, police said.
The other doctor in Brisbane was being questioned by Australian authorities, but was not officially in police custody, said Queensland Premier Peter Beattie.

Wow. Doctors... Who's next? Engineers (and I don't mean of the Train variety)? Politicians? Janitors? Mechanics?

A witness said he jumped from the car, sprayed himself with gasoline, lit himself on fire and then was swinging his fists wildly at anyone who came close while yelling "Allah, Allah, Allah . . . ."
Fruit loop.

How long until Western Nations such as Canada, The U.S., Britain, France, Germany and Spain start cutting off immigration from middle eastern nations.
Some of these nations might even look at mass deportations of foreign workers out of thier countries if this continues.

It's kinda disturbing that so many of the people being implicated in the British plots seem to be doctors... it's a movement that usually is portrayed as praying on young, nieve and uneducated men for it's core, but apparently there's always been a strong intellegensia component to al qaeda. And of course, anyone with those sorts of credentials will be much more free to move about.

The Raw Story, sponsored by GoLeft.tv... Progressive Online Television.. sounds like real mainstream media there.
In any case:
Quote:
“The UK media hasn't analysed the PM's statement yesterday sufficiently thoroughly,” Johnson told RAW STORY on Monday. “[The Prime Minister] didn't attribute blame directly to Al Q’aida, but said the methodolgy was similar, and talked more generally about Al Q’aida worldwide.”
|
and yet:
Quote:
During an interview with BBC’s Andrew Marr for BBC Sunday AM, Prime Minister Brown discussed at length the threat of terrorism in the world and organizations such as Al Qaeda. It is those comments that have been taken out of context by media reports.
....
"while I don't want to comment on the police investigation that is ongoing, it is clear that we are dealing in general terms with people who are associated with, with Al Qaeda in a number of incidents that have happened all across the world."
|
Sounds pretty black and white to me.

So where do YOU get the idea that these people (terrorists) are poor, uneducated slobs? Maybe those root causes need to be re-assessed?

News to me. I thought that the 9/11 hijackers were pilots (in training).
*I* never said that they were poor uneducated slobs, so don't put words in my mouth. I didn't think that there was much of a pattern to their history, other than they followed the same belief. I guess there is more of a pattern there than first thought.
No need to be a jerk about it.

I find it to be pretty hyporitical that Doctors are terrorists, and the second in command of Al Queda is a doctor.
Aren't doctors suppossed to "do no harm", aren't they suppossed to do everything that they can to preserve life.
There's a special place in hell for these people.

I think the idea that terrorists are uneducated comes from the Palastinian suicide bombers who, according to many reports I've heard, are indoctrinated from poor Palastinian families with promises of untold pleasures after death.
The terrorists in the sleeper cells and so on are a different breed. Highly intelligent so they can aquire the skills to enable them to blend into other foreign societies.
It just seems such a waste. To spend all that time to become doctors, and the world needs more doctors, only to throw away all the potential healing and good that could have been done.
